Squirrels do enjoy eating tulip bulbs. These flowers originate from Iran, growing wild in the valleys of the Tian Shen Mountains. They were introduced to Europe in the sixteenth century and gained popularity there. They are associated with The Netherlands which became the world's largest producer of the flower. As pretty as the flowers are with their red, pink, yellow and white varieties, they are a treat for squirrels. There are a number of bulbs that squirrels will stay away from, including daffodil, hyacinth, glory of the snow and lily of the valley.
