Roger Altounyan's early treatment for asthma was a flowering plant called khella, from which he soon came to understand that it's active ingredient was khellin, which he discovered when purified becomes a gamma-pyrone, of which he eventually refined and fine-tuned into the much safer and more effective Sodium Cromoglycate.
