Submit your poem: 'The View from Here'
We’d now like you to share your version of ‘The View from Here’, with other Learners on the course. You’ll need to submit your poem in the assignment box found near the bottom of this Step.
Once you’ve submitted your poem, you’ll be asked to provide your thoughts to another Learner on theirs (and you in turn, should receive comments on your own submission). If you can, please aim to review at least 2 poems. This can be really beneficial in the creative writing process to see how others have understood and interpreted your poem.
When writing your poem, you can use any shape or style that feels right to you, and you may find it helpful to type your poem in a word processor to help you rearrange the shape, as seen in Step 2.6.
Some technical things to note:
- Please be aware that the FutureLearn platform sometimes resizes content to fit the screens of many different devices, which may have an impact on the overall shape of your poem, once submitted.
- The text box has a minimum word count of 40 words.
If your poem is shorter than 40 words, you can add the following
sentence at the end of your poem to make it up to the word count:
- ‘The following is not to be reviewed: My poem will only be accepted on the FutureLearn platform if it meets the minimum count of 40 words. Please note this message acts as additional text to reach this requirement’.
Before you submit your work, check the points in the guidelines below as other Learners will follow these to give their thoughts on your poem. We also recommend that you take a few minutes to give your work a final check for any typos.
When you’re ready, copy and paste your poem in the box below and click on ‘submit assignment’.
